UPDATE Sunday, Sept. 10: The Rodney Forward has been located by Pennsylvania State Police. He was recovered late Saturday evening in Chadds Ford, and his family has been notified.
Volusia County sheriff's deputies are seeking the public's help in locating a 70-year-old DeLand man who is believed to suffer from Alzheimer's disease and who left home Friday afternoon in an attempt to visit New Hampshire.
Rodney S. Forward left his home on Iris Road in DeLand around 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, telling his wife he was headed to New Hampshire. He took a change of clothes with him along with some medication. Forward has been experiencing steadily worsening symptoms of Alzheimer's and may be disoriented.
Forward was last seen driving his white 2015 4-door Ford F-150 pickup with Florida tag 065-6HK. He was wearing green shorts, no shirt and had bruises on his forearms. While he has family in New Hampshire, at this time has not made any contact with them, and they were not expecting him.
Anyone who spots Rodney Forward or has information about his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1.
