Flagler County issued an emergency order that extended curfew from 7 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, to noon, according to a release.

The curfew goes into effect at 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 10.

“We now expect dangerous winds and conditions to linger longer than first anticipated,” Emergency Manager Steve Garten said in a release.

Roadways need to be clear of non-emergency traffic to make way for first responders, FPL crews and public works teams that will be performing rescues, handling electric lines and clearing debris.

In addition, the ban on the sale of alcohol — which includes bars, restaurants, and liquor and grocery stores — will continue.

“Residents need to stay indoors and off the roadways until the hurricane has past us,” County Administrator Craig Coffey said in a release.
