Shortly after Hurricane Irma ripped through the Florida Keys on Sunday, Sept. 10, Florida Governor Rick Scott urged for a Major Disaster Declaration for every county in the state from President Donald Trump, according to a release from the governor’s office.
Scott spoke with the president earlier Sunday.
According to the release, Trump reaffirmed his support to provide Florida with every federal resource to aid in response and recovery.
“We are fully committed to providing every resource to Floridians for response and recovery,” Scott said in a release. “We will spare no expense to save lives and help Floridians. We’ve worked aggressively all week to prepare for this powerful storm and keep people safe, but we have a long road ahead.”
