Port Orange officials have announced there will be a citizen debris drop off site opening Thursday, Sept. 14th from 7:30 a.m. through 3 p.m., seven days a week for at least the next two weeks.

The drop off site is only for Port Orange residents.

The entrance will be off of Oak Street, east of the railroad tracks and west of Ridgewood Avenue. Electronic signs will direct drivers.

The city has requested the following:

  • Vegetation debris will only be allowed (tree branches, leaves, logs, plants).
  • Residents will have to unload their own debris.
  • A driver’s license or utility bill will be required to show proof of residency.
  • Residents must be present in vehicles.
  • Personal vehicles and trailers are allowed.
  • No commercial vehicles or commercial trailers will be allowed to use the citizens drop off.

There will be a separate area for the recycling of sandbags, as the city plans to reuse the sand. Traffic controls are in place to route the citizens safely through the yard.
