Hurricane Irma has left its mark not only by the structural damage it has caused but how it has affected what people can do.

For Luanne Lundy, a volunteer at American Cancer Society, the hurricane has forced her to cancel a fundraiser to fight breast cancer she had planned.

The event had originally been scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 17, at the All All Saints Lutheran Church in Port Orange. However, Lundy said the hurricane has done damage to the church parking lot forcing her to cancel the "Hymn Festival" event that was supposed raise money for the American Cancer Society and the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer organization.

The fundraiser was meant to bring people together to sing hymns and support a good cause. The "free-will donation" event was put on by Luanne Lundy as her sister and niece are both breast cancer survivors.

According to Lundy, the event was supposed to be a way to provide "comfort for survivors and people that know people affected by breast cancer."
