Missing 78-year-old Port Orange man found

A 78-year-old Port Orange man was found safe by Stuart Police Department who located him on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Around 7:56 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, the Port Orange Police Department responded to 277 Poinciana Ave. for a report of a missing male. The man, Richard Rosell, was reported to have last been seen at around 3 p.m. the same day. 

According to authorities, Rosell left his residence driving a maroon Toyota Camry and had a cane with him. 

Rosell had been diagnosed with dementia, according to police. 

Rosell’s vehicle had been captured on a traffic camera traveling westbound on LPGA Blvd in Daytona Beach, Florida at 3:47 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12. Rosell was entered as missing with a Silver Alert activation completed through FDLE.

According to authorities, "arrangements are being made to ensure his safe return home."

According to authorities, the medial examiner has determined that Dorfner's death was not storm-related.
