Port Orange residents may now apply for FEMA assistance

Additional county-wide updates relating to the hurricane.

Residents in Volusia County can now apply for individual assistance from FEMA if Hurricane Irma damaged their primary residence, their insurance does not cover losses or they are underinsured. 

Residents are asked to call their insurance company to file a claim if there is damage and they do have insurance. 

Anyone applying for FEMA assistance will need the following: 

  • Social Security number
  • Telephone number where he or she can be reached 
  • Address of the damaged property
  • Current mailing address
  • Brief description of disaster-related damages and losses
  • Insurance information
  • Bank account address and information

Additional updates

As of Wednesday, Sept. 13, there were 85,940 customers from Florida Power and Light with power and 61,800 with power. 

Duke Energy had 42,000 customers with power and 29,600 without power. 

Clay Electric had 2,101 customers with power and 2,075 without power. 

New Smyrna Beach Utilities Commission had 25,000 customers with power and
1,000 customers without power. 

Curfew

The countywide curfew from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. has been lifted.
