Andre Mintz enjoyed a classic glazed doughnut as he sat next to his daughter, Laila Davis, while she ate one covered with chocolate and sprinkles.
"That's my baby," Andre Mintz said. "I love her."
The father-daughter duo were two of about 200 father figures and students that packed Indian Trails Middle School on Wednesday, Sept. 27 for its second-annual Dads Take Your Child to School Day.
Michelle Czarnecki, ITMS eighth-grade dean, said the day is about bonding.
"I just love to see all the dads, grandparents and male role models in the kids' lives come and show up and just have fellowship and enjoy their time together," she said.
Deshawn Walker saw this morning as a way to spend time with his daughter, Chloe Walker.
"This year is her last year in school here, so you don't get this opportunity again," he said about his eighth-grader, Chloe. "So, I wanted to come out and support my daughter."
