Beginning on Tuesday, April 3, the contractor for the Westport Reserve Subdivision – Phase 4 in Port Orange, will be using an engineered controlled burn apparatus at the site to remove piles of debris from site clearing. According to the contractor, the burning of debris will occur over the next two weeks between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

The controlled burn will be located at the center of the Westport Reserve Subdivision on the north side of Town West Boulevard, west of Coquina Cove Subdivision.

The controlled burn setup has been inspected and approved by the Florida Forestry Service and the Port Orange Fire Department has authorized and issued a Controlled Open-Air Burn Permit.

The burn piles will be located at least 300 feet from any roadway and 600 feet from any dwelling.
