Port Orange resident Lindsay Martin has been named the trauma program manager for the Trauma Services Department at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach.

As trauma program manager, Martin monitors and promotes all trauma-related activities associated with care of the seriously injured, including newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. In conjunction with the trauma services director, she coordinates supportive activity in compliance with the rules and regulations of the State of Florida’s Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services to maintain Halifax Health Medical Center’s current status as a Level II Trauma Center.

Prior to being named trauma program manager, Martin served for five months as the department’s interim manager. During that time, she oversaw the staffing of the department and trained more than 200 employees in helipad safety.

Martin also led Halifax Health Medical Center’s designation as a Stop the Bleed teaching site; assisted in mass casualty and disaster planning; and oversaw the implementation of multiple improvement projects.

Martin, who earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Daytona State College in 2015, has been a registered nurse for five years.
