Take the wheel

5:45 p.m. — Intersection of Andalusia Avenue and Fleming Avenue

Larceny. A 25-year-old woman stole an elderly man's car under the pretense of asking for a ride to her college dorm in Daytona Beach. The man, 73, was driving her the way she was directing him when she advised him he was going the wrong way.

She then convinced him to her drive his vehicle, leading him to stop in the street to switch drivers. While he was walking around the back of the vehicle to get into the passenger side, the woman climbed across the middle console into the driver's seat and drove away.

Later that afternoon, deputies spotted her and took custody of the vehicle after a stop stick deployment that caused her to crash into a tree.

Driving without a license. A 41-year-old man was arrested after committing a traffic infraction. He was identified by police as a habitual offender.

Once the man was in handcuffs, a passenger in the vehicle told police "I told him he shouldn't have drove."

Public indecency

12:10 p.m. — 700 block of South Atlantic Avenue

Information. An unknown man in his mid-50s exposed his genitals in the middle of a hotel parking lot in broad daylight, leading guests to take photos of him and show them to the manager.

The manager told police that this man, described as white, with a "large" build and short hair, pulled the front of his shorts down, looking upward at guests on balconies with a "sort of smile" on his face. Employees said the man soon left the parking lot, going across the street and later toward the beach. He was not found.
