An Ormond Beach Police Department officer was airlifted to Halifax Health after he collided with a white truck on Hand Avenue.
The officer, David Starke, was responding to a call of a suspicious person, armed with a gun, in the 1000 block of Hand Avenue at 3:03 p.m., Wednesday, April 18. He had his emergency lights and siren on.
He struck the driver's side door of the truck when the driver made a U-turn in front of him, OBPD reports. The truck's driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
OBPD announced Thursday, April 19 via Facebook that Starke "is in good spirits and in stable condition. We appreciate the community concerns and welcome the continued prayers and well wishes."
