Organized chaos

Resisting an officer without violence. When confronted with arresting a 37-year-old man officers know to be difficult, police took a different approach in drawing him out of his residence: Officers "created a loud commotion" in his driveway by moving around patio furniture and throwing small pieces of bark at his window.

The police's plan worked, and the man came out his backdoor to investigate. Upon spotting the officers, he attempted to flee. Police deployed taser probes, which struck him in his back.

The man has a history of hiding from law enforcement, according to police, and had active arrest warrants in Volusia and Flagler County.

Man on a mission

12:47 p.m.  — 200 block of Destination Daytona Lane

Armed burglary. Police arrested a 28-year-old man discovered in a recently-sold RV who claimed he was sent to pick it up for his father, but when asked once more what he was doing in Florida, he stated that "the Lord sent him here."

Before police arrived, employees at the dealer noticed the RV was running and when they entered it, they noticed clothing, knives and other personal items scattered throughout it. Police reported that the RV contained several machetes in plain sight as well.

Video surveillance footage showed the man arrive to the lot in a white UHaul pickup truck late the night before. The battery on the RV was dead, and when asked how he was able to start it, the man told police "with a will there's a way."
