Emma Minn said her favorite part of being in pageants is "making new friends."
The Palm Coast 6-year-old was excited to pick out her royal blue dress for the Little Miss Florida Spectacular America pageant on July 28. It was only her second pageant, but she walked away with the title of "Mini Miss Florida" for her age group.
Her mother, Kara Minn, said she was very proud of her, especially since this was only her second pageant. She added that Emma originally didn't want to compete a second time but changed her mind once her friend decided to do the pageant.
"But then, when she found out a friend was participating, she said, 'Mom and Dad, don't you know that you're not going to get better at things if you don't practice and try again?'"
Kara Minn said she was happy that the importance of practice and hard work has been instilled in Emma.
"The minute she came up with the idea to practice and train again to get better, we couldn’t say no," Kara Minn said.
Emma will be a first-grader at Belle Terre Elementary this August. She is also a competitive and award-winning dancer at Mia Bella Academy of Dance and takes gymnastics lessons.
