Flagler Palm Coast High School Principal Dusty Sims has been selected to become Regional Executive Director for School Improvement of the Northeast Region, according to a press release from Flagler Schools. He will oversee a team providing on-the-ground support to district administrators, instructional coaches and school leadership teams of underperforming schools.

“I fully support Mr. Sims and his family in pursuing this new opportunity where he can positively impact multiple schools,” Flagler Schools Superintendent James Tager said in the release.

On making the move, Sims thanks the teachers, students, staff and administrators at Flagler Palm Coast High School.

“I’ve always looked for providing opportunities for everyone, whether they’re an adult or a student,” Sims said in the release. “Our staff has done a wonderful job in sharing our goal. Their success has provided me with this opportunity to help other schools in our state.”

Sims was named the state Assistant Principal of the Year in 2014. His last day with Flagler Schools will be Aug. 17.

“We will aggressively pursue a talented leader to continue the tradition of excellence at FPCHS,” Tager said in the release.
