Nine kittens were rescued by employees and locals next to the Dollar General on Old Kings Road in Palm Coast during the first weekend in August. Right now, they are being fostered at several homes, but those interested in caring for one can contact Jordan Cronk at 400-3555.
Each year, the Philippine American Assocation of Palm Coast awards $2,000 for first-year college expenses in two installments to a college-bound local graduating high school senior affiliated with the club’s membership. This year, the association awarded two students: Matanzas High School graduate Concetta O'Conner and Pedro Menendez High School graduate Jowen Harrington.
The Rotary Club of Flagler County introduced its new slate of officers and recognized its 2017-18 Rotarian of the Year at its annual installation banquet this summer.
Cindy Kiel Evans has become the club’s newest president and will serve a one-year term, which began on July 1. She’s a business owner who’s involved in both Flagler and Volusia counties.
The Rotarian of the Year award went to Bill Butler, a Landscape Architect for the City of Palm Coast and past president of the club.
Butler was chosen by then President Tracy Loftus for his tireless work on the annual Fantasy Lights event and for going above and beyond in all that he does for Rotary and the community.
The Rotary Club of Flagler Beach announced the club’s 2018-19 slate of officers and 2018 Volunteer of the Year, Citizens of the Year and Rotarian of the Year awards.
The installation celebration was held at the Golden Lion Cafe in Flagler Beach on July 19.

Roy Sieger, director of the Flagler County Executive Airport, was recognized as the club’s Rotarian of the Year. Flagler Palm Coast High School’s graduating senior and Interact member Erin Robinson was awarded with the first-annual Dave Dalecki Volunteer of the Year Award. Also at the celebration, the club presented a check for $3,247 to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
