Superintendent James Tager announced Bob Wallace as the next principal of Flagler Palm Coast High School, according to an Aug. 16 news release.
“Bob has a reputation for empowering teachers and staff and is one of the best in the profession,” Tager said in the release. “I’m confident Bob will continue the FPC reputation of building leaders within our district.”
Wallace spent 13 years as principal of Seabreeze High School in Ormond Beach, which was one of Volusia County’s strongest academically performing high schools, according to the release. He retired in 2015 after spending 35 years in education.
When asked about his newest challenge, Wallace said, “I look forward to the opportunity to maintain the standard of excellence that Mr. Sims has in place.”
Wallace earned a bachelor of science degree from the College of William and Mary in 1973. He was awarded a master's in physical education from Eastern Illinois University in 1977. Additionally, he completed the principal certification program at Stetson University. He succeeds Dusty Sims, who leaves Flagler Schools for a position within the State Department of Education.
“This school year is off to a successful start, and it was important to get an established, proven leader into Flagler Palm Coast High School,” Tager said in the release. “I know Bob is going to hit the ground running and continue to grow the strong foundation which already exists on the FPC campus.”
