The Palm Coast Fire Department is asking everyone to help keep the wreaths green at the city's fire stations by preventing fires.
Project Green Wreath is a fire prevention program that runs through the month of December. Large wreaths have been hung at all five stations, with green light bulbs in each. Firefighters will replace one green light with a red light for each structure fire during the month, according to a news release.
"Project Green Wreath is a visual reminder of the importance of implementing and following fire safety practices during the holiday season," Palm Coast Fire Chief Jerry Forte said in the release.

Palm Coast resident Pat Vickers is celebrating her 85th birthday on Dec. 22. She has lived in Palm Coast for 25 years and is an active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Her children and their spouses Frank, Cathleen, Michael, Stephen, Marie, Jay and Grace; granddaughters and spouse, Cindy, Brown, and Rose; and great-granddaughter, Lucy, wish Pat a wonderful birthday.
Painting with a Twist Palm Coast hosted a “Painting with a Purpose Fundraiser” on Friday, Nov. 30, for the Grace Community Food Pantry.
“‘Tis the season for giving, and we are so thankful for all those who contributed to the fundraiser,” said Sara DeLong, studio manager, in an email. “It turned out to be an amazing event where a grand total of $500 is going back to the food pantry in order to feed many local people this holiday season.”
The Palm Coast Yacht Club is devoting its annual Jingle Bell Bowl to the project “Love in a Backpack,” an effort to raise money to provide weekend nutrition for the children of Flagler County who are on the verge of becoming homeless.
The “Jingle Bell Bowl” will be from 2-6 p.m. Dec. 9, at Palm Coast Lanes, 11 Old Kings Road N. The public is welcome. Cost for team members is $20 each, with individual sponsorships being offered for $30. Boosters are invited to cheer on their favorite teams for a fee of $10 each.
