Members of the Ormond-by-the-Sea Lions Club have spent the last few days helping the Salvation Army, reaching membership milestones and hosting the club's annual Breakfast With Santa.
On Saturday, Dec. 8, nine lions helped ring the bell at the Salvation Army's stand outside the Ormond-by-the-Sea Publix. Each took two-hour shifts. The Lion Club thanks the local community for their generous support.
Earlier that morning, the Lions Club hosted Santa and Mrs. Claus and firefighters for its annual breakfast. All children received a small gift, candy canes, coloring books and firefighter hats.
The following members also received chevrons in recognition of their membership milestones this month.

The Ormond Beach American Legion Auxiliary Unit 267 recently hosted a "M.A.S.H" fundraiser for breast cancer research. It was able to present $6,000 to the American Cancer Society.
A record number of toys were collected this year thanks to the Seabreeze High School Leo Club and several Ormond Beach Lions Club members.
The toys are brought the club's annual Christmas party, where they are assembled and packaged to be ready to send to UF Health Shands Children's Hospital in Gainesville.
The Ormond Beach Police Department received a few cartoon figurines of law enforcement officers from Ormond Beach resident Ralph Gosling, as seen on the Department's Facebook page.
OBPD thanked Gosling for thinking about the Department, explaining that Gosling wanted to thank officers for helping his family. The memorabilia had previously been in storage.
