Eddie Collins, 62 and a resident of Bunnell, died the evening of Dec. 13 from injuries sustained in a rollover crash on U.S. 1 on the afternoon of Dec. 10.
Collins died at Halifax Health Medical Center at 6:05 p.m., according to a news release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 10. Collins was in the passenger seat of a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup driven by 43-year-old Palatka resident Gregory Williams.
Williams was driving north in the left lane of U.S. 1 and drove onto the center median in a section of the roadway that curves to the right, according to the news release.
Williams then overcorrected to the right, and the truck overturned two times before coming to rest on its wheels on the shoulder of the road, according to the news release.
Rescuers took Williams and Collins to Halifax Health Medical Center. Williams' injuries were minor, according to the news release.
