Samantha Fabulich attended all local schools while growing up.
She went to Tomoka Elementary, Ormond Beach Middle School and graduated from Seabreeze High School. Fabulich is proud to say she is a product of Volusia County schools. She decided to go into education because of her parents, who were both teachers and then administrators in Volusia County.
Fabulich now teaches fourth and fifth-grade gifted students at Pathways Elementary. This will be her 19th year of teaching.
"I am challenged daily, and each day I am thankful for the inspiration which enables me to continue pursuing my passion of teaching for that 'aha' moment I might have created in class, or the silent, but telling 'thank you' from a child or colleague, or even the 'Do you remember me?' moment when I see former students," Fabulich said in a statement.
Every year, when her students graduate from fifth grade, she tells them about the North Star. She says it's considered to be the star that helps to guide people when they look up and asks them to remember this:
"My voice and those of your former teachers will continue through you," Fabulich said. "We are now part of your North Star along with your family and friends who will help guide you along the way."
