Police are searching for a brunette woman who ruined at least one person's Valentine's Day after stealing a flower delivery vehicle while the driver went inside an office to deliver what would become his last arrangement for the busiest day of the year for florists.
The Flower Market's driver pulled in front of local billing office DuvaSawko in the 200 block of South Yonge Street at around 9:45 a.m. on Feb. 14. Security footage from the business shows the driver turning on the hazard lights on red Hyundai Tucson before
getting out and opening his trunk to show several arrangements yet to be delivered. The driver grabs a heart-shaped balloon from the front seat and goes inside the building.
As he's walking in, the woman who stole the vehicle — whom police estimate to be in her 40s — making a beeline toward the SUV. Since the SUV was left unlocked and with the keys in the ignition, she makes off with the vehicle and $3,000 worth of flowers in minutes.
The flowers would later be found dumped at the intersection of Destiny Drive and Bella Vita Way.
