Police arrest Port Orange man for sexual battery

The man was arrested on Monday, Feb. 19.

A Port Orange man, 40, was arrested by Port Orange Police detectives on Monday, Feb. 19, for two counts of sexual battery upon a person 12 years of age or older but younger than 18 years of age, according to a press release. The crime was committed against a person in familial custody. 

The name of the defendant is not being released at this time.

Detectives, following up on the initial complaint, developed further evidence enabling the arrest to be made.
