Fresh off their district title nearly a week ago, the Pirates wrestled their way to another win, this time in their regional tournament on Feb. 24 at Chiles High School in Tallahassee.

Results:

First-Place Finishers: Tyrone Jones (145).

Second-Place Finishers: Josh Bower (120), Stone White (126), Lawrence Russo (132).

Flagler Palm Coast finished in third place in their regional meet on Feb. 24 at Hagerty High School in Oviedo.

Results:

First-Place Finishers: Avery Holder (132), Mike Martins (138).

Second-Place Finishers: Curtis Brock (152).

Amiri, Dalzell to compete in FACA Senior All-Star Weekend

Two FPC soccer players were selected to represent the state of Florida at the FACA Senior All-Star Weekend on March 2-3 at The Villages High School. Midfielder Saba Amiri and goal keeper Malia Dalzell will be two of the 20 players to compete in the event.

Matanzas tennis routs Clay in season-opener

The Pirates beat Clay High School 6-1 on Feb. 20.

Singles: Valenteychik (MHS) def Bolazti 8-0; Zitka (MHS) def Null 8-4; Gerhard (MHS) def Meek 8-1; Watson (Clay) def Rodriquez 8-6; Buck (MHS) def Bowerman 8-6; Sky Buck (MHS) def Katie Bowerman 8-6;

Doubles: Valenteychik/Zitka (MHS) def Bolante/Null 8-0; Gerhard/Rodriquez (MHS) def Meek/Watson 8-6.

Palm Coast Parks and Rec to add new pickleball league

Palm Coast Parks and Recreation is adding a Pickleball Ladder League in addition to three weekly Pickleball open court sessions, according to a news release.

The new league starts Thursday, March 1, at Holland Park, located at 18 Florida Park Drive in Palm Coast. Singles play will be 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, and doubles play will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursdays.

You have to be at least 18 years old to play in the new league. Players will be placed into groups of four in order of their ranking on the ladder for match play. Rankings will be determined after results of each round.

The entire session runs from March 1 through April 26 and costs $5 to join. Registration is required: www.palmcoastgov.com/register.
