Citizens Police Academy created to educate about Port Orange Police Department

The police department is currently accepting applicants for the program.

Residents will have a chance to learn more about the inner workings of the Port Orange Police Department through an upcoming 2018 Citizens Police Academy. 

The free educational program was created for Port Orange residents to have a better understanding of the operation of the police department and its personnel. The police department is currently accepting applications of the academy, which will consist of demonstrations of various police practices and equipment. 

Representatives from the police department will discuss a different subject each week. The academy will meet on Monday evenings from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. for nine weeks, starting on Monday, February 26.
