Fraud. An Ormond Beach couple was met with a $598.73 charge on their PayPal account for two tickets to a Marc Anthony concert in New Jersey they never bought. Police report the couple has never even lived in New Jersey. The tickets were to be billed to a woman from Clark, New Jersey, though it seems she won't be seeing the latin singer from the section 7 first row tickets she attempted to buy using the couple's account.
The husband told police he contacted law enforcement in New Jersey, but was told to contact OBPD instead. OBPD instructed him to contact his bank.

Smuggling contraband into prison. A 30-year-old Daytona Beach man tacked on an additional charge to his arrest after a cigarette package fell from his shorts during a police search at the Volusia County Branch Jail. Police report the man wore no underwear and believe the package to have been hidden in his "intergluteal cleft."
The package contained less than 20 grams of cannabis and remains of burnt cannabis inside two cigarettes. The man had been brought to jail for possession of paraphernalia.

Assault. In an attempt to have his roommate removed from their shared room at a local nursing home, one 62-year-old man told police his roommate kicked him in his right foot where he had a preexisting injury, but due to witness testimony, police eventually determined the claim to be unfounded.
The witness told police the roommate did not kick the victim, who said he didn't think his foot was further injured as a result of the alleged kick. Due to his roommate's mental ability, police reported criminal charges were unlikely.
