Marjorie Violet Graham, of Palm Coast, celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday, July 21, at Good Sam’s Assisted Living Residence in Palm Coast. Graham was born on July 21, 1918, in Roseau, Dominica. She moved to New York in 1979 to assist with raising her three grandchildren and then to Palm Coast in 1988.

About 40 people gathered to share in this special occasion at Good Sam's, followed by another celebration on Sunday, July 22, after service in St. Augustine at Christ the King Anglican Church, where Graham is an active member.

One of Graham's granddaughters, Tamara Gibson-Alonso, documented her grandmother's thoughts on 100 years of wisdom and happiness.

Graham's inspiration for personal wellness includes:

"Thank God for life; find value in every day, year after year."

"Get a quality education, and don’t stop until you’ve reached your goals."

"Take good care of your body; eat fresh foods and healthy drinks (including a shot of wine or brandy from time to time, or daily)."

"Stay happy; don’t be upset for too long. Life is short."

"Ask for what you want, and be clear about it; do not be afraid to voice your opinion."
