Leaving scene of crash involving damage. Police arrested a 36-year-old Palm Coast woman who called dispatch for a hit and run incident she caused herself. Shortly after backing up into a local gas station's dumpster and surrounding gate, she pulled over in a parking lot further down the road, telling police that the vehicle was hit when she was at the gas station and that she hadn't noticed until she got to her second location.
Police noticed that the damage of her vehicle was consistent with the broken car parts left at the scene and informed her they would start a criminal hit and run investigation. The woman denied ever crashing into the dumpster, according to police. A witness would later tell officers the woman was crying and changed her story three times in regard to her vehicle's damage.
After the woman stated "if it's on video, then it must have been me," police found probable cause to arrest her.

Petit theft. A 26-year-old Pierson man was arrested after he used a 99-cent dog toy barcode to scan multiple items in a supermarket's self-checkout line. The man scanned a total of $91.81 worth of goods, each using the barcode.
The items ranged from dog treats, beauty supplies and food. He also stacked various tortilla shell packages and scanned them as if they were one item.

Larceny. Police are searching for an unknown man and woman who stole almost $400 worth of clothing from the local Cracker Barrell. Video surveillance of the incident shows a white male, around 40-50 years of age, about 6-feet-tall and with multiple tattoos on both legs, coming into the store and leaving with several pieces of clothing under his arm.
Store employees have conducted an inventory and determined that eight pairs of training shorts, three polo shirts and three long sleeve lace-up shirts are missing. The suspect got into a white Ford Explorer, police reported, where a white female, described to be about 45-50 years old with short blonde hair, was waiting. The pair then sped out of the parking lot.
