Learn about sea turtles

When: 7 p.m.

Where: Lohman Auditorium, located at 9505 Ocean Shore Blvd., St. Augustine

Cost: Free

Details: The spring evenings at Whitney Lecture Series hosted by the University of Florida Whitney Laboratory concludes with the program titled “Emerging Research and Conservation of Sea Turtles - in Honor of World Sea Turtle Day.” A question and answer session with the panel members will follow the lecture.

 

Tuesday, June 19

Food Truck Tuesday

When: 5-8 p.m.

Where: along Park Street next to Central Park in Town Center, 975 Central Ave.

Cost: Price of food

Details: There will be a variety of food trucks and entertainment by Gailforce. This month’s beneficiary is the Palm Coast Arts Foundation, which will offer a children’s crafts table for kids to create and take home crafts. The food trucks signed up for June include: Cool Beans BBQ and Catering, It’s All Greek To Me, Lee's Famous Cheesesteaks, Monsta Lobsta, Ramon's Personal Chef, Surf N Soul Grill, The Big Cheese, The London Fish & Chippy, Wingin’ It, Woodson’s Wrap Shack, Brusters, Kona Ice and Tiki T's.

 

Thursday, June 21

Inspired Mic night

When: 6 p.m.

Where: Europa Bistro, 101 Palm Harbor Parkway

Cost: $10.50 online; $15 at the door

Details: The Inspired Mic is Flagler County’s voice of creativity. Presenters will entertain the crowd. The ticket includes one drink and entry into a drawing with a prize of $50 cash or a $75 gift certificate to The New Europa. Visit http://www.theinspiredmicus.com.

 

Senior section:

Palm Coast Parks and Recreation offers a variety of other weekly programs for adults and seniors at the Community Center. These programs are free, but pre-registration is needed at https://www.palmcoastgov.com/register for setup and planning purposes. Call 986-2323 for details.

 

Sit, Stitch N’ Give

Mondays, 9-11 a.m.

Come chat, knit, crochet, embroider and laugh with those who understand your desire to take a long piece of thread fiber and create a beloved "work of heart.” All levels of experience are welcomed.

 

Color Me Happy

Mondays, 9-11 a.m.

Bring your favorite coloring book or pages and colored pencils or use the supplies we have available.

 

Senior Social Corner

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9-11 a.m.

Sit and relax in the comfort of our Community Center and chat about whatever is on your mind that day. This is also a great opportunity for seniors who are looking for a meeting space to come and discuss specific topics.

 

Wood Carvers

Tuesdays, 1-4 p.m. 

This program is open to men and women of all levels and abilities. Participants must bring their own materials.

 

Pinochle

Tuesdays, 1-4 p.m.

Pinochle is a trick-taking card game typically for two to four players and played with a 48-card deck. Derived from the card game bezique, players score points by trick-taking and also by forming combinations of cards into melds.

 

Open Art Studio

Wednesdays, 9 a.m.-noon.

Need a space to create your next work of art? Stop by the Community Center for some creative time. Please bring your own materials.

 

Mah Jongg

Wednesdays, 1-4 p.m.

Mah Jongg is a game that originated in China. Join in on this game of skill, strategy, and calculation and make new friends.

 

Game Day Social

Thursdays, 12:30-4 p.m.

Game Day Social is comprised of a lively, spirited group of individuals who enjoy the camaraderie and competition of dominos, a variety of card games or board games. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite game or play one provided.
