The Rotary Club of Downtown Ormond Beach greeted cyclers at the first support and gear stop for the Cycle Flagler ride for Rotary 2018.
The stop was located at Fortunato Park and was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Flagler Beach. Cycle Flagler is a 24, 40, 66 or 100-mile ride that raises funds for the charities the Flagler Beach Rotary Club supports.
The city of Ormond Beach has hired Hollywood resident Brian Rademacher as its new economic development director, starting Monday, June 18.
Rademacher has over 10 years of experience in economic development. He holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology and Spanish as well as a master's degree in public policy. He is a certified economic developer and a licensed real estate agent in Illinois and looks forward to becoming licensed in Florida in the near future.
Osceola Elementary received boxes of food for its school-wide field day thanks to the Rotary Club of Downtown Ormond Beach and Sam's Club no. 8138 of Daytona Beach.
The Rotary Club has adopted Osceola Elementary School for one of their community outreach programs where 15 members mentor students weekly. This is one of the several local and service projects the Rotary Club has undertaken in its short time since conception, and other projects include cleanup and replanting projects at Ormond Beach Elementary and Osceola Elementary. New members are always welcome.
