A featured fugitive was taken into custody by the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit less than one hour after the weekly Fugitive Friday Bingo video was posted to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office’s social media sites on the morning of Friday, June 8, according to a news release by the FCSO.

Warren Putt Jr., 39, had an active felony warrant for lewd and lascivious molestation on a victim younger than 12 years old.

The incident was first reported in 2017 but actually occurred nine years prior, when the victim was between the ages of 5 and 7. Putt was the child’s mother’s boyfriend at the time of the molestation. A nearly yearlong investigation led to the warrant being signed by a judge on Wednesday, June 6.

“This was great police work in getting a pervert who preyed on an innocent child off the streets and in jail where he belongs,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a release.
