Flagler Palm Coast's Dennis Shorter, Marquise Gilbert and Tallin Coates each received offers from Alabama A&M, located in Normal, Alabama, on June 8. Alabama A&M is a Division I FCS program that plays in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. It was Coates' second offer.

FPC's Henshaw picks up fifth DI offer

FPC defensive lineman Verneal Henshaw received an offer from Coastal Carolina on June 8. Located in Conway, South Carolina, Coastal Carolina is a Division I FBS program that plays in the Sun Belt Conference. It was Henshaw's fifth Division I offer.

Flagler County Horseshoe results

The Flagler County Horseshoe Pitching Club had a "just for fun" tournament on Thursday, June 7. The winners were Bob Flanagan and Elaine Studnicki. They each won 4-of-5 games played.

Florida Hospital and Florida Cancer Specialists celebrate cancer survivors during Tortugas game

In honor of National Cancer Survivors Day, more than 400 community members joined Florida Hospital and Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute to recognize and celebrate cancer survivors during a minor league baseball game between the Daytona Tortugas and the Clearwater Threshers on June 5, according to a news release.

The attendees had battled various types of cancer. Some were still undergoing treatment, while others have been cancer-free for more than 20 years.
