On Monday, June 18, at approximately 10:38 a.m., a motorcycle ridden by 62-year-old Henry Gonzalez was traveling westbound on Taylor Road within the 1600 block.

As Gonzalez proceeded within the inside travel lane, another motorist, who was traveling within the outside turn lane, failed to notice Gonzalez and began to pull into his lane of travel. In doing so the other motorist struck Gonzalez’s motorcycle, causing him to lose control and be subsequently ejected from his machine.

Gonzalez sustained a head injury and was transported by EVAC to Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach.

If anyone has information regarding this crash, they are asked to contact POPD Traffic Homicide Investigator Jesse Pierson at 506-5838.
