A woman was in the closet of her apartment at Integra Woods off Seminole Woods Boulevard the afternoon of June 21 when she heard a loud bang and the closet filled with drywall dust.

She noticed a hole in the wall that adjoined her neighbor's apartment, according to a deputy's report.

The neighbor knocked on her door and said he'd accidentally fired his handgun as he was putting it away.

A Flagler County Sheriff's Office deputy called to the scene took the gun for safekeeping and placed the bullet, which had lodged in the wall, into evidence.

The deputy did not find probable cause to charge the gun owner, who owned the firearm legally, according to a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.
