DUI. Police arrested a 63-year-old Ormond Beach woman after officers observed her swerving while driving westbound on Wilmette Road, noting that she was crossing over the double yellow line several times. The woman told police that she was on her to Winn Dixie to buy a pack of cigarettes and that she had a hurt right hip. Police conducted the standard field sobriety exercises, all of which the woman performed incorrectly. She was then transported to the police department for a breath test.
It was then she began burping, at the end of both attempts of the 20-minute observation, with the intention to prolong the process, police reported. She was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail.
