Atlantic, Spruce Creek High students receive Student of the Month awards

The awards were presented by the Port Orange Elks Lodge #2723.

On Tuesday, March 20, Port Orange Elks Lodge Scholarship Chairman Paul Leonard and Committee Member Louise Lauthain presented Student of the Month awards to students at Atlantic High School and Spruce Creek High School.

The organization has been presenting these awards each month. 

Additionally, Jerry Peterson, former exalted ruler of Port Orange Elks Lodge #2723, along with current lodge members, presented a $700 check to Principal Steven Hinson and Brian Eschen, teacher on assignment, to help the school with the purchase of snacks and beverages for students participating in after school tutoring, senior remediation and test re-takes.
