Vietnam Veterans group to honor men and women who served in the Vietnam War

The Vietnam Veterans of America Daytona Beach, Chapter 1048, will be hosting a National Vietnam War Veterans Day event to thank and honor veterans of the Vietnam War, including personnel who were held as prisoners of war, or listed as missing in action, for their service.

The event will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 30, at 5810 South Williamson Blvd.

Halifax Humane Society to hold Yappy Hour

Yappy Hour is back and this month will be held at the Holiday Inn at LPGA Blvd. 137 Automall Cir. Proceeds will go toward helping animals at the Halifax Humane Society. 

The event will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11. General admission is $15, admission for children ages 3 through 10 is $5.

Halifax Health to Host Stop the Bleed Training on March 31

In recognition of National Stop the Bleed Day, on Saturday, March 31, Halifax Health will host a free, two-hour training class for anyone interested in being trained on how to help in a bleeding emergency before professional medical help arrives.  Led by Halifax Health’s trauma and emergency medicine team, the class will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the France Tower at Halifax Health Medical Center of Daytona Beach, 303 N. Clyde Morris Boulevard.

Fair to create awareness about autism

Residents interested in learning more about autism can attend the Autism Resource Fair from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, April 2, at Easterseals of Northeast Central Florida, 1219 Dunn Ave.

Attendees can show support by wearing blue while being educated about the spectrum disorder.

German Shepherd Fundraiser to be held at Chili's 

The Daytona Beach German Shepherd Rescue will be hosting a fundraiser to help German Shepherd's looking for a home. Chili's Grill and Bar, 1148 Dunlawton Ave., will donate 10% of the sales back to the organization for every flyer presented on Friday, March 30. 

The event will take place from 11 a.m to 11 p.m. on Friday, March 30.
