Information. A front desk clerk at a nursing home witnessed an elderly woman strike a fellow patient with a book that she normally carries around in her wheelchair. The clerk said that the patient was not bothering her when the woman struck him a few times with her book. The police report states the clerk heard the woman ask "Do you want me to do that again?" and then hitting him one more time.
Both parties have no recollection of this event due to their health conditions.

Possession of cocaine. A 23-year-old man was arrested after he licked cocaine off his phone screen when stopped by police for an expired tag on his vehicle. An officer first noticed the cell phone in the young man's lap as he approached the passenger side door. When the officer got his attention, the man hid the phone. Police report the man also ingested a small bag of cocaine as he noticed a second officer approaching.
Because the man refused to adhere to the officer's request to show his hands or get out of the vehicle, one of the officers broke the passenger-side window in order to unlock the door. The man was first taken to the Florida Memorial Hospital to be medically cleared due to the amount of cocaine he swallowed, and then to the Volusia County Branch Jail.

Battery Touch. An argument over a real estate turned especially sour for one 54-year-old woman after her brother called police to report she had punched him several times. Dispatch reported that while the call was being placed, the woman could be heard yelling "put the phone down" and "all I did was shove you a bit."
The brother and sister pair were fighting over a house soon to be sold, which the woman said should not be because she owns one-third of the property. When police approached her at the scene, she said her brother was "nothing but a sissy" for calling the police. While being placed into custody, she also said the situation should not be considered domestic violence because she is not married to her brother.
