Chipotle Mexican Grill will open its first Palm Coast restaurant on Thursday, April 5. The new restaurant is located at 5860 State Road 100 E., Unit 200. Hours of operation are from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m., every day.

The first 50 customers will receive free Chipotle SWAG bags.

Saltwater Croc's opens in Flagler Beach

When Robin Humphrey and her family first purchased a property at 205 North Oceanshore Blvd., it was a “shack.” The Humphreys purchased what was left of a residential home in Flagler Beach. It was falling apart and had no foundation.

“It was an eyesore for the community,” Humphrey said.

Nearly two years later, that shack is now a budding business.

Robin Humphrey and her husband, Greg Humphrey, are the owners of Saltwater Croc’s Grill, a restaurant that overlooks the beach and the pier, which opened on Feb. 2.

The menu includes a variety of brats and sausages, hotdogs, burgers and alligator (nuggets and and po’ boys).

Robin Humphrey said they opened the restaurant to give beach-goers the option of an outdoor, quick dining option. The restaurant has experienced steady business since its grand opening, and she expects business to continue to climb.

In addition, there were no serious hurdles to climb in the two years it took to open the establishment, Robin Humphrey said — except being patient.

“We felt good about what we were doing and what we were going to bring to the city,” she said. “We wanted to make sure we did it right before we opened it up.”

Finn's Beachside Pub undergoes remodeling, new menu

Finn’s Beachside Pub is turning the corner in 2018.

The restaurant, located at 101 N. Ocean Shore Blvd. in Flagler Beach, decided to ring in the new year with a new sign. It reads: “New Year, New Finn’s.”

The sign went up in early January to signal the establishment’s fresh coat of paint, remodeling and revitalized menu, according to General Manager Greg Tarpley.

Finn’s, which used to serve frozen food items, now serves fresh products, mainly fish, according to Tarpley.

Badcock Furniture opens store in Flagler Beach

Badcock Home Furniture celebrated its grand opening on Friday, March 23.

Badcock — which, in addition to selling furniture, also carries appliances, electronics and lawn equipment — is located at 2501-A W. Moody Blvd., the same space that was occupied by the now-closed Food Lion nearly eight years ago.

Badcock signed the lease on the property in Flagler Square in April 2017.

“It’s a growing market and an emerging economy,” Manager Derek Kiefner said. “They felt like this was a good place to branch out from the store that they own in St. Augustine to reach customers down here in this area.”
