Starting April 1, Ormond Beach residents will be able to nominate the city to receive a $20,000 grant by the National Recreation and Park Association and The Walt Disney Company to make improvements to a local park.
It's the fourth year that the NRPA has offered this national grant opportunity for the "Meet me at the Park" Earth month campaign. At the end of April, the city with the most nominations will receive the funding, and, all those who nominate a city will automatically be entered into a drawing for a GoPro prize pack.
“Ormond Beach is known for its extraordinary quality of life where parks are a vital component of the health and happiness of our citizens and have always been a top priority," said Mayor Bill Partington in a press release.
During April, a public service announcement in support of the Meet Me at the Park campaign will be shared across Disney-affiliate stations, including ESPN, ABC, Freeform and Disney Channel. The city encourages residents to vote for Ormond Beach and to take photos in your favorite park using the hashtags #MeetMeAtThePark, #Parkies and #CelebrateEarth.
