About a dozen 3 and 4 year olds ran around the Indian Trails Sports Complex fields kicking soccer balls while wearing neon green shirts during week seven of the eight-week spring soccer program on Friday, May 4.
The kids spent the first 30 minutes playing games, like Sharks and Minnows, that incorporate basic soccer skills before concluding the hour-long session with some scrimmage.
Coach Nick Monsanto said the eight-week program began with the children getting to know each other and introducing elements of the sport. Each week, the kids became more comfortable playing, and he said he has seen improvements in skill level. The final session of the spring program will be Friday, May 18.
The Future Stars summer programs start up in June. For more information and to register, visit https://bit.ly/2rsAV5B.
