The Ormond Beach Police Department is working to identify two suspects involved in a shooting at a local roller-skating rink on Saturday, Nov. 10.
Officers arrived to Skate and Shake, located at 250 N. U.S. 1, at 11:53 p.m. after receiving multiple calls of shots fired in the rink's vicinity. Though no injuries have been reported, multiple rifle casings and one pistol casing near the business, according to a report. The suspected shooters, both black males, both fled the scene before law enforcement's arrival.
According to the report, outside surveillance video indicates the shooting lasted about 15 seconds at 11:49 p.m. Two cars leave the parking lot immediately after the shooting ends; a black sedan and a white SUV. Both are seen turning off their headlights before turning right onto U.S. 1.
One of the employees told an officer that she was checking tickets outside of the rink when she heard "numerous loud bangs" and people began to "swarm through the door." She told police that others stated that the shots came from the back side of the parking lot.
In a 911 call released by OBPD, a woman tells the dispatcher that there were over 500 people at the rink and that over 30 shots had been fired.
Police discovered a white van with several entry and exit bullet holes on the southwest side of the parking lot. It was parked in front of the Little Feet Academy preschool, and had been used to transport children to the rink to attend a party.
