Port Orange Police Department confirmed that the body detectives found on Aug. 31 is Thomas McMullen Jr., who was the suspect in the Diana Kessler's death.

Detectives found the body in the woods near the 2500 block of West International Speedway Boulevard last week after searching for him for several days. Detectives did not know the exact cause of death on Friday, but they said it likely was a suicide. The autopsy results released on Tuesday were inconclusive in proving suicide as the cause of death, and toxicology results are pending.

McMullen became the suspect in Kessler's death after she was found dead on Aug. 27 in McMullen's parents' home in Port Orange. His parents were on vacation when a neighbor found the body in their home.
