A Port Orange couple caught their 45-year-old neighbor looking into their bathroom window Monday evening.

The Port Orange Police Department responded to a possible burglary call. When officers arrived, Christopher Beres and Alexandria Kenney said they caught their neighbor, Michael Woodward, near their bathroom window with an erection, according to the police report.

The couple was home for about 30 minutes when this happened. Kenney was nude and getting ready for bed when she heard a loud noise outside the bathroom window. She and Beres said they heard heavy breathing when they were silent.

Beres went outside with his loaded shotgun while Kenney stayed inside and called the police. He found Woodward hiding in the bushes, wearing only gym shorts. Woodward claimed he was looking for his keys.

Woodward tried to walk away and hide his erection when Beres told him not to move until the police arrived. Beres said Woodward begged, "Don't do this. I have a 7-year-old daughter and a wife."

Woodward's wife told officers that he was indoors watching television when he left to get his inhaler from the car, but he was outside for nearly 10 minutes.

Officers found Woodward's keys on him, but they were not wet though the grass was wet, according to the report. Officers also said that the dirt and grass directly below the bathroom window was disturbed.

Woodward was charged with voyeurism and loitering/prowling.
