Hurricane preparedness seminar

When: 2 p.m.

Where: Volusia Memorial Home Port Orange, 4815 Clyde Morris Blvd.

Details: The funeral home is hosting a free seminar, featuring Eric Burris, meteorologist for WESH 2, who will discuss hurricane preparedness. To reserve a spot, call 386-322-5373.

Friday, Sept. 14

"The Love List" premieres

When: 7:30 p.m. 

Where: The Stage at Thank You Five, 4606 S Clyde Morris Blvd.

Details: “The Love List” by Norm Foster, directed by Rip Pellaton, is a story is about a 50-year-old living in New York who decides to try out a mate-finding service run by a gypsy woman. Admission is $17. For more information, call the theater at 386-295-5699.

Saturday, Sept. 15

Cracker Creek Eco Field Trip

When: 11 a.m. 

Where:  Cracker Creek, 1795 Taylor Rd.

Details: The Pawpaw chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society is going on an educational adventure to Cracker Creek. The group will board a Cracker Creek pontoon and learn about the ecology of the Spruce Creek River and plant walk after lunch. Cost is $10, and participants are asked to bring a picnic lunch. Monday, Sept. 17

Help commemorate Constitution Week 

When: 9 a.m. 

Where: Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle

Details: The Sugar Mill Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is commemorating Constitution Week.

Tuesday, Sept. 18 

DAR Sugar Mill Chapter resumes meetings

When: 6:30 p.m. 

Where: Port Orange Christian Church, 904 Taylor Road
