Seabreeze (1-5, 1-1) captured its first win of the season after powering past Pine Ridge 35-0 on Friday, Sept. 29, at Pine Ridge High School.
Sophomore quarterback Isaiah Shirley, back from an injury he sustained in practice a few weeks ago, threw for three touchdowns and ran for a score against the Panthers' defense.
"He was efficient," Seabreeze head coach Troy Coke said of Shirley. "That's why we need to do in the passing game. We finally didn't shoot ourselves in the foot."
In addition to the offense's productivity, the Sandcrabs also had their best game on defense. It was the Sandcrabs' highest point total as well as their first shutout of the season.
"It was great. You need to get that bad taste of losing out of your mouth," Coke said. "Our kids were really excited. They deserved it."
