Matt Dunn, the executive director of tourism development in Flagler County, was put on paid administrative leave on the morning of Thursday, April 4, according to Interim County Administrator Jerry Cameron.
Cameron said he couldn't comment on any specifics regarding why Dunn was put on leave, and there also hasn't been a decision yet as to who is going to fill in for Dunn while he's on leave.
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly said that the Sheriff's Office received an info report at about 4 p.m. Thursday on an allegation that could include public corruption. The Sheriff's Office is reviewing the report, and it will make a decision on Friday, April 5, on whether it or another agency will investigate.
The Sheriff's Office has to determine if there's a conflict of interest. If there is, another agency will be brought on board to do the investigation.
Dunn was not immediately available for comment, and the Flagler County Tourist Development Council had no comment, as well.

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office was advised by Flagler County Government that they had information concerning the possible misappropriation of public funds by Flagler County Tourism Director Matt Dunn.
After reviewing preliminary information and consulting with the State Attorney and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Sheriff’s Office has turned the case over to FDLE to investigate.
The Sheriff’s Office will have no further comment as it is an active investigation.
