Animal complaint. A 61-year-old Daytona Beach man called police to inform them that he had been attacked by three dogs while giving a quote on electrical work. He said he was at the hospital being treated for a dog bite to his right thigh and right testicle.
The man told police he thought the dogs were outside when he entered the home, but that they started jumping on him and at least one bit him. The dogs in question include a Boston terrier, a miniature schnauzer and a mixed breed dog. One of the dog owners told police that the man told her he was a "dog person" and to let the dogs out.
She said that the man told her he had been bit, but didn't appear to be having an issue, according to the police report. She said all dogs are up to date on their shots, and that this was an uncommon event.

Fraud. A police officer found himself responding to a call in a local fast food restaurant's drive-thru after an employee called for fraudulent activity.
Once there, the employee at the window told him that he'd recently been given a fake $50 bill. The employee confronted the 23-year-old passenger, who appeared confused and asked to have the fake bill back, according to a report.
The employee did not give the passenger the food he ordered, and he and his friend left the establishment. Police later interviewed them, and the passenger said he had unintentionally passed a counterfeit bill. He explained that he had gone to a festival recently, and had sold his ticket while leaving the festival to a man who gave him the $50 bill. He wasn't aware it was fake.

Fleeing from law enforcement. A Port Orange woman fled town after she was caught sleeping in her vehicle. This wasn't her first run from the law — she had a warrant out of North Carolina for fleeing and eluding.
Police approached the woman after receiving a call, and she told the officer that she had been planning on working out but chose to take a nap in her car instead. When asked for her license, she said she left it inside the gym because she had to create a new membership. She provided police with her name instead, though no records of that name were found.
After the officer tells her that he could work with her if she didn't have a driver's license, the woman put her car in drive and fled. Daytona Beach officers tried to stop her, but she managed to lose them too.
