I will support the 1/2 cent sales tax but all of Ormond Beach projects but for one are either county or state roads. OB already collects storm water fees and its sewer and water is a self-sustaining enterprise fund. Flood projects and hardening of infrastructure from climate change are worthy projects. The sales tax should not be used for maintaining existing infrastructure like repaying roads. My only pause in supporting this sales tax is Volusia County’s past mismanagement of the impact fees, i.e. impact fee credits to Consolidated Tomoka.
