Former Mainland Buccaneers football player and current University of Central Florida star Adrian Killins was put on the watchlist for the Hornung Award, which is given to college football's most versatile player. Killins was an All-Conference running back and kickoff returner for the Knights last season.
The 5-foot-8, 164-pound speedster rushed for 715 yards and 4 touchdowns and caught 19 passes for 377 yards and 4 touchdowns during his junior campaign in 2018, helping lead UCF to a 12-1 record and a New Year's Six Bowl appearance.
Seabreeze's football team competed in a scrimmage against the area's high school teams on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Flagler Palm Coast High School. The Sandcrabs lost to Pedro Menendez 27-0.
Inclement weather didn't stop the Bucs Showcase, Mainland High School's pep band, from concluding their 2019 Band Camp. The band practiced and performed inside a basketball gym.
